My family is Christian. My parents have brought me up going to church
However I don't believe in God... Or any religion to be honest. I believe that all these people who claim to have talked to God and can 'feel' him working in their life I'd just them making it happen. I think they want it so bad that subconsciously they make themselves feel that way simply because of the power of the mind. That's what u believe anyway. So I guess I want a way to tell my parents I'm not Christian and I don't want to go to church again... And how to back that up when they start challenging me about it, in a loving way if course not aggressive challenging just so you know they are not like that....
Thanks

What ever way you approach the subject with your family I think it would be important not to spend the conversation talking about what you think other people believe or think. Talk about what you are as opposed to what you are not. You can be kind, caring, loving, altruistic, responsible and conscientious (which no doubt you are) without being a Christian. Is there something (perhaps of benefit to the community) that you can replace going to church with?

ReplyHi.... I'm also an atheist and neither do I believe in my religion or any other religion but i respect everybody's beliefs and i try not to hurt anybody's feelings for what i am. So, i think you should just tell them politely and make them understand that someone cannot be forced to be what they are not.
PS my parents know it and even I avoid visiting holy places.
