Does anyone else work up the courage to have a phone conversation and it's got great momentum and friendly tones throughout and your anxiety suddenly flares up and you find a way to end it abruptly?
I just got off the phone with my future employer (just got hired on but haven't begun working) and this is how I reacted.. It was great and then... silence and a brief alright, goodbye.
What the hell is wrong with me?
How can I make a better impression next time and try to fix that?

Yes, I have to work up to phone conversations (even just to call the dentist to make an appointment). But in this case, I think you're judging yourself too harshly. They must like you -they gave you the job. And a bit of silence following a great conversation? They might not have even noticed. Congrats on the new job!
ReplyThank you. I've been unemployed for awhile so this was such a relief and you're right. I'm not my own best friend and do tend to judge myself a lot. I need to work on that.
