Too much stress in your life causes headaches, high blood pressure, stomach aches, memory loss, disrupted sleep, and increased risk of heart attacks. Yikes! If you’re stressing and feeling some of these effects, you’ve come to the right place.

Watchwellcast has more great advice on how to tell when you're stressed out and gives simple tips to relieve tension quickly. There are small things you can do everyday to promote relaxation and there are helpful strategies to cool off when you're in the heat of the moment.

The first wellcast strategy involves staying in to recuperate when you’re feeling overwhelmed. Completing a repetitive task allows your brain to gear down and focus, which will help declutter your stressed mind.

The next strategy is the easiest one of all. Studies have shown that taking a warm shower or bath will boost your mood. Regardless of how stressed you are, you can do this one! Watchwellcast encourages you to think of this as a “liquid hug”.

If you’re having a hard time sleeping, give progressive muscle relaxation a try. In layman's terms, this means to clench every muscle in your body as tightly as you can for a few seconds and then let go.

Still feeling stressed? Try exercising and getting out of your house. Better yet, mute or disable your phone temporarily while you’re out too. Your emails and texts can wait!

Another stress reducing tip is to treat yourself to a small amount of something tasty. We are not condoning emotional eating, but a few bites of dark chocolate can actually help you destress.

Hopefully you’re feeling slightly less stressed and you found this advice to be useful. Try to get in the routine of following these steps the next time you’re overwhelmed.

Stress, stress relief, destress
