It’s difficult to fathom, but every 40 seconds a life is lost due to suicide. This video features the aftermath from four grieving individuals who share what they wish they could have told their loved ones before they took their lives.

The people featured in this video lost their best friend, mother figure, brother, and father. One of the first thoughts that often plague friends and family members of suicide victims is the constant wondering of why this happened and how they could have prevented it. These are questions that won’t ever be answered directly which makes closure difficult to come by.

“Somewhere in the decision making process you figured that everyone would be better off without you, and that’s not true. You matter. You always did. You always will. I love you”

If you know someone who might be in danger of harming themselves, don’t wait to tell them how much you love and care about them. Reach out to them now and offer any help they may need. Even if they may not seem to care, your support and love could come at a crucial time that may end up saving their life.

If you are having suicidal thoughts please contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline immediately at 1-800-273-8255 or visit Novni’s Helplines to learn more.
