Stand Up Against Bullying

According to Nobully.org, bullying is the #1 act of violence against young people in America today. 3 out of every 10 students worldwide are bullied each year, and the impact can be traumatic.

Burger King conducted a social experiment to see how many bystanders would help a young boy who was being bullied vs. the amount of people that would report their burger being 'bullied' (smashed). Although a burger and a person might be somewhat of an odd thing to compare, the results showed that only 12% of customers stood up for the boy being bullied.

You are contributing to the problem if you witness someone being bullied and make no effort to help the victim out or report it. If you're being bullied it's important to know that you don't have to defend yourself alone. Find an ally that you trust (friend, family member, school counselor, teacher) and tell them about what is going on.

Together, little by little, we can stand up against bullying.
