3 years ago was my 2nd overdose and I was on life support for 10 days and I ended up with brain damage, I lost all basic motor skills and I couldn't do anything. They said my brain would heal and I thought it was but I still have sever body twitches and when I read or get nervous when I'm talking I severely stutter. Sometimes my eyes squeeze hard and my nose scrunches up. 2 or 3 times I forgot how to walk within the past 2 years? I can draw again but I have a really hard time spelling, saying words correctly, and reading. When my body twitches, all of my muscles tense and shake severely for up to 2 seconds. I had overdosed on Abilify, Risperdal, and something else I can't remember and common household drugs.

Yes, overdose can and does cause permanent brain damage. The location of the damage and the specific brain structures injured vary, as different drugs impact different neural interactions and systems.
