I recently went to my grandmothers house in the country and brought back some sweets that can only be found there. I will be leaving my country very soon to go abroad for further education so those sweets were the last time i would be able to eat them until I come back, which could be 2 years from now. I left them on the dining table, inside a wrapped packet.
My mother, who always likes to give the servants snacks and treat, if we have them, found the packet and, even though she knew those sweets were MINE, she gave away a hefty portion of it to the morning servant. When I found out I was so freakin mad! On normal circumstances, I wouldn't have cared and if i wanted to share those sweet treats I would have, but they were special and I didn't want to share them with anyone this time.
Instead of apologizing, my mother accused me of being selfish and mean to the servants, which I never am. The same day, the servant returned the portion of the sweets she was given because my mother told her that I was mad, which made me even more angry because now I feel humiliated.
The point is, if my mother had at least asked me before she gave the servant the sweets, I would have considered it and said fine. What really got under my skin is that she just took what belonged to me and thought it was okay to give it away without at least thinking about how I would feel about it instead of presuming that I'd be okay with it.
