Any advice for fighting off bulimia? I’ve had it for a year and a half now. None of my friends know, only my parents. They’ve told me to just stop doing it. I’m trying really hard, but I keep screwing up.

I've never had bulimia, but I am an extreme emotional eater and i eat lot the more emotional I get. Whether it's mad or depressed to upset or whatever. It is possible to it something that might be emotionally triggers. Like trying to feed your emotions "literally" followed by instant extreme regret and self hatred. If so it might be something you need psychological help for in order to get to the root of the problem. I've been to a couple psychologists before and in my experience they are not as bad as reputation make them out to be.
I hope you get better, or a least learn to take care of it.
ReplyIt’s easy for others to say stop doing it, when they don’t understand the cause of it. Seems like neither do you. It’s a great thins you’ve written about your problem here, i can tell you that the best thing to do is to talk to one of your parents, the one you’re closest to, and tell him/her that you’re trying but you can’t do it alone. It’s best that they give you support and take you to a specialist before the problem gets worse. You can start getting better now, without anyone else from your circle of friends to know. The fastest and most efficient way to beat this-cuz u can do it on your own, but it’ll take more time to understand the cause, to put yourself the right questions, is to go to a therapist. They’re not bad at all:)
You’ve made a great start, addmiting u have a problem! And you’re helping me see that i have emotional non-eating, a kind of anorexia or smthng, everytime i deepen myself in one particular spectrum of thoughts i cannot eat:( thanx :)
