Before when someone borrowed me money I just gave them money without a second thought but then they broke my trust and they never pay me or bother saying sorry to me that they can't pay me. I am not a person who always collects or follow up those who have debts because I have trust that they will have the initiative to pay me but they broke my trust and now they want to borrow money again because they need money but I decline since they did not pay their previous debt to me. For me what I did is right and reasonable but why I do feel sad and guilty for not giving them the money? Is it because I feel that they will think ill of me because I did not give them money? Is it because they are my family? Is it because I have money but choose not to give it? I want to give them money but I don't want them to abuse me. If only they know how to pay their debt giving them money will not be a problem. and I will not be sitting here feeling bad for not giving them money.

You did the right thing. It's not your problem. They should pay you back first before giving them anything else.
