My problem is I have really important exams in a few months however I feel I have completely lost motivation and am barely even doing the bare minimum which is my homework. I feel the reason for this is because I exhausted myself and cared too much for a very long period of time that now I just can't be bothered anymore. I really desperately want and need to get back on track and I know how however the problem is I have now gained a continuous habit of laziness and procrastination and I know I am fully responsible for training my brain to avoid anything out of my lazy comfort zone. My question basically is how do I retrain and basically reconstruct my mind in a way where I can break my current self destructive habits in order to become productive and motivated once again. Advice from people who have been in my situation is especially appreciated. Thank you.

Okay, I guess
Today was okay, I guess. I mean, I cried at lunch and just broke down for literally no reason. I was working on some homework I had to turn in and then I put it...

Boys (eyeroll)
Ok so I have a long complicated history with this guy. Pretty much been on and off for the past 5 years. I'm really stressed about our relationship now, because...
I totally understand, I have exams coming up in a few months too and I'm freaking out, im also so lazy i watch Netflix like every-night and stay up late but remember that the work you put in will be so worth it because with it you will get a good certificate to get to a good university and then you can relax and be proud of yourself at the same time. Personally I think its best to slowly get back into the routine then just suddenly doing it at once, and instead of working on everything, make a plan and work on what actually needs improvement on.. say math look at the unit and put in on good or needs improvement this will help with time.. and don't do everything all at once and for long hours. Take a break every hour for like 10/20 mins and get back to it. I believe in you :D
ReplyWhat helps me out of these bad habits is actually getting out of the house. I make plans to meet with study groups or go to the library and force myself to study. Studying is like going to the gym, the hardest part is actually getting there. I also drink caffeine, coffee or an energy drink to get me motivated. It is extremely easy to say I'll study all day tomorrow and never do it, but when I use the tactics mentioned above it helps me be productive.
ReplyI have exams next month too! First of all, all the best for your exams. Second thing, if you want to get out of laziness, you have to start slowly. For example, say you want to decrease your phone usage, then set a time daily where you will stay off your phone( maybe 2 hours?) and study during that time.
You have to take small steps to get of your habits. You can set goals for yourself like studying one hour more than how much you normally study.
The hardwork you put in will all be worth it. Do your best in these months but do take breaks. I believe in you, believe I yourself and you can do it. All the best! ;)
