I think there is a phenomenon among young people to drinks excessively. This tends to become a habit among those who go out for quiet drinks, which inevitably end at 8am. Question is ... why?
There is no distinct answer as to where it started, some will have a continuing habit from university, others will have picked this up later in life. However people in this group inevitably end up in the same situation where they cannot stop drinking once they start.
Alot of this will come down to their environment; stress, uncertainty, social anxiety or general anxious feelings. Point here is that once you start drinking those feelings go away and it lifts your mood after a few... passing that point to 10 drinks is the desire to stay in a alcohol filled reality where little matters. If you realise this is happening then you are making a conscious decision to get away from your problems. Now what about those who do this unconsciously, are they chasing another feeling of being high or getting away from their problems in unsustainable ways? Or are both groups just unable to find other outlets and coping mechanisms of modern life?
From personal experience it may be none of those things, it is simply a matter of priorities. If you want to have fun and enjoy yourself above all else, then why not? Why not go and get drunk and have fun? After all you don’t have anything better to do... or do you?

I drink. I can't stop. I'm not human. Kill me.
ReplyMake no mistake its a disease and should be treated as so. We already have too many drunk drivers on the road. It shouldn't have to take for someone to die from a drunk driver. Nothing wrong with a glass of wine after work or a beer. Everything in moderation
