Suicidal ideation consumed me a few weeks ago. I began planning the details of the event in my usual way; accounting for loose ends and such.
One of my pre suicide goals is to clean my apartment and throw way or donate most of my belongings. I hate the idea of my bereaved family literally riffling through my dirty laundry.
I realized what an imposing task this would be and immediately decided to put it off.
My self admonishment led to this inner dialogue:
"If you weren't so depressed you could do this. If you weren't so depressed your apartment wouldn't look like a crack den . If you weren't so depressed you wouldn't be fantasizing about suicide."
That last conclusion gave me a much needed laugh. Is life really this absurd? Or just mine?

ReplyIt’s really that absurd
ReplyAlbert Camus said that life should be absurd. I would listen to a dead French author, he's pretty legit. Hang in there.
