Is it okay to feel overwhelmed and scared on your second day of highschool? God, this is so stressful and overwhelming for me. With trying to find out about volleyball tryouts, and then switching my classes to honors, and getting my binders to not hurt my back. It’s so overwhelming and I wanna cry.

Transitioning from elementary to high school is a large process to take in. Nothing wrong with feeling overwhelmed and scared. In a month you'll feel comfortable.
ReplyYeah, I think it's okay. It's a change in your life, and change is uncomfortable. I am very directionally challenged, so when I was in high school it took me two weeks to remember where all my classes were. I graduated back in 2013, so I would pull my paper schedule out in front of everyone in the huge crowded hallways as we all walked to respective classes. Basically I felt like everyone was judging me, but truth be told, by the end of the first quarter I had most things figured out. I don't know how big your school is, but there were about 600 kids in each grade at my school. So I just want you to know that you're not the only one who feels this way. The only thing I will say about it is if the feeling is still there at the end of the school year I would seek professional help because you may need to talk through some of your anxieties with someone. Also, honors classes are cool, just try to figure out a study schedule that works for you and stick to it! Sometimes it helps to study with other people. Good luck with volleyball tryouts! That will be another activity that you have to be mindful of your time with, but I wish you all the best!
ReplySchool haven’t start yet and my sister always stress out when schedules were out. It’s normal to be stress out as you are trying to get used to it. However, I do suggest that you take courses you are confident in. A few honor courses is fine if you think you can handle it cause those courses can be a pain in the ass. As I was once a high schooler, an advice I would give is that don’t be too invest in school that you forgot to have fun. I’m not trying to tell you to give up on your studies because that is a naive thing to do. What I’m trying to say is if things get too overwhelming, take a step back and relax. Talk to counselor if you’re struggling. Take care and good luck in school.
