Mr Begnaud,
You knew me as a child, up into my teen years. You were supposed to be a mentor to the kids at your school. You were the principal, in charge of discipline.
When you saw me as a teenager, you accused me of being a satanist because of how I dressed and the music I listened to.
You told my parents, I was a non believer.
You treated me and the group of friends I hung out with like we were a disease. Constantly harassing us, "random" searches, planting evidence, and the old, someone said you were doing this. This someone never had a name, it was just an excuse to try to get us to confess to anything.
Instead of looking out for me, you put me down, made me feel like I was not a believer. You are one of the reasons I lost my faith.
As the leader of a church, you should fear for your mortal soul. For the bible says
1Jesus said to His disciples, βIt is inevitable that stumbling blocks will come, but woe to the one through whom they come! 2It would be better for him to have a millstone hung around his neck and to be thrown into the sea than to cause one of these little ones to stumble.
I know there are many more lambs of god you have removed from the flock by your choice of words and actions.
Please take this to heart, and feel what it would be like to be in the situation you helped put me in.
Sincerly
J. Eldritch
