this is going to seem very stupid, but i like Kpop, yet no one knows. not even my best and closest of friends. I'm keeping it to myself because everyone thinks of me as this serious girl who doesn't like Kpop. and true, i used to shun them, but i have come to like it. and i know this pales in comparison to what everybody is going through, but i have kept this to myself for many many many years. i watch their videos in the dark at night and only listen to the music when i'm alone. i have become a pro at it. but i really want to tell someone so that i do not need to keep lying to everybody. i have to pretend that this is the first time i'm listening to a song, when i have jammed to it so many times before. i wish that i can talk about a group with my friends without being laughed at. when i told my sister, she didn't even respect my privacy and told my mum, who LAUGHED at me. she hates Kpop by the way.
i grew up very conservatively, and so i couldn't sing, couldn't dance in front of anyone since young, because i was laughed at. i lost my self confidence and i wish i could turn back time to tell my younger self to be more open. as time went by, i was hiding my true self from everybody that i have two different personalities now; one that i show no one, and the cheerful and bubbly one everyone knows.
now im sick and tired of pretending, but i don’t know what to do.

I found something
According to a site, I guess I'm evil, since I often directed my issues back onto people when I felt ignored when they would just talk about their problems and...
I like Kpop too! And my friends are a**holes about it. They keep saying things like about the artists being gay and all that shit. I would like it if people could learn to appreciate someone's talent and not just judge them on the basis of how they look. I listen to Kpop because i like the music and the beats and their dance moves. Not because of them being just good looking!
And am sorry but i don't know what to do either. I just try to brush off their ignorance for my interests from my mind. But it's difficult. I am not talking about just Kpop here btw. It's everything. I wonder if anyone even KNOWS me

ReplySorry in advance dear as there would be many grammatical errors in here. Hello😊 I was in an almost same situation as yours before. The difference is my mom respect my privacy and she loves K-pop as well. The same thing is my high school friends doesn't like K-pop. trust me sweetie, you don't have to hide yourself, you don't have to be embarrassed of things that you love. Be confident when you say that you love K-pop, and in that way people will see how serious you are about things that you love. You don't have to be embarrassed about loving K-pop. It's not just about K-pop. It's about your confidence in expressing your feeling. Don't be shy and pretend that you hate things that you love cause you would end up hurting your own feelings cause deep in your heart you know you don't mean it. I hope you will be able to open up to your closest friends. But remember even if they make fun of you, don't be discouraged cause you are being honest about yourself. That's the most important part in being true to yourself. You can do it✨
Replyokay i didn't mean to send that twice -_-
ReplyHey there. I understand that society doesn't take kpop seriously and speaks shit about them. I really want to tell you that no one has the right over what you like and what you don't. You should be able to do whatever you wish to. So if someone tells otherwise, don't bother is what I'd suggest and yeah, there's a world of people who love kpop. Join them on instagram, facebook and stuff. I really wish everything goes good with you!
