Robert Frost is one of my favourite poets.
One of his poems, 'The Road Not Taken', is about making a really tough choice.
In the poem, a traveler comes to a fork in the road. The divergence is a difficult one.
One road is tried and tested, used by the majority and well worn. The other one was grassy, and wanted wear, for people feared going that path.
That is precisely what is going on here with me.
I can completely secure my future by picking the option that looks like it was made for me, or I can pick the one that is different. Dangerous. Scary.
Should I dare try be the one in a million, or should pick the safe side?

My ideal future if I were to meet or exceed my wildest expectations

Hey there. You know you got two options and you are meant to pick one. But the question is, do you love the dangerous option enough to follow it and go through the struggles? Or is your safe choice something you are doing just because you don't want risk? Think it through. And lets not forget that you could always come back to your second choice or passion once you are safe and secured. Hope that you find your right road.
ReplyI was just thinking about it, yesterday......with "fire and ice"........"two road diverged in the woods and I took the one less traveled by" #DeadPoetsSociety <3........ though the poem doesn't clarifies which road to choose.......the one less traveled or the other one......he just says that he'll be telling the people that his road was the hard or less traveled one...........idk, I am open to discuss, I am not in literature classes, we don't do that here, sadly!!!!........ anyway ,as for your problem, The road to take ????? I faced the similar situation, You see back in the day, all my friends and the whole classmates went to this fancy college (Two years) of the city, and I decided to enroll in the other not much fancy one.......but, though I told myself I am taking the road less traveled by.......there were other reasons - like, that college required alot of expenses ? And was highly favoured, thus kinda the whole city went to that college.......the one I chose though, it was kinda the same with less expenses and with kids from villages surrounding the city.......don't think, it would have made any difference in me, If I had chose the other one.......but surely there would have been alot of changes in the person that I am today........ i'll never know........again, two roads diverged, I took the one less traveled by.......and that has made all the difference......but I'll never know that difference.........
P.s. it was kinda my personality, I was kinda sick, and wanted to meet new people (which I did - good people), thus I don't regret my choice........choose who you are!!!!!!
ReplyThis depends whether or not you like a challenge. If it was me I would pick the one that is different because I like a challenge. If you don't and want the safe option go for that one.
ReplyThe road less taken can be thorny spider web laden avoiding lots of bushes etc. Following the masses isnt always the best though. Them again you never know what the less taken road will be like so it's totally up to you in the end. In reality i used to climb mountains when i was younger. I hated thorn patches but in the end the view of below paid off.
