Hello, my little emerald queen,

Who shines such a vibrant green.

I’ve missed you in these times of loss,

Forgotten, you have grown cross.

I see you standing there

In the shadows I do stare.

You look right through me,

With eyes as blue as the sea.

My heart is filled with sorrow,

Because I know you won’t see tomorrow.

As you run and play,

I close my eyes and prey

That you will stay awake,

And I will not be able to take

You with me just yet,

For your path is still unset.

To young you are to know

How much you have left to grow

And the things you will do

That will make your heart true.

The light you still shine

Shall not be mine this time.

For now I shall say goodbye,

And hope that you will not fly.
