pieces lie on the floor.
Every break so intricate,
Like each was mapped out and uniquely in place.
Intricate like snowflakes uniquely made from the sky.
He says it’s fixable, you pause
One piece, two pieces unmatched
You start to see cracks that align
There goes the time
The snowflakes fall like memories from the year before
Piece by piece you’re almost complete
You look to see what’s left and see cracks un-restored
And the women staring back, that’s not you
He says I understand it’s broken
It’s a good thing my job is to make all things new
