I was diagnosed in January with a rare bone disease where one of my wrist bones is dying. Worst part of it is I'm left handed and an artist and this occurred in my left hand. I had surgery to try and correct it but there is no known cure for it. I now have a metal plate and a shortened radius bone since March and I'm still in so much pain. I have no one that can relate since it's a rare disease and is usually only found in adults aged 40-60. I'm 18. I just want someone who understands the pain I'm in to just... talk to me. To be there. To understand. But all I have is a 3 inch long scar running down my wrist to comfort me.

ReplySome kinds of arts come easier than others don’t they.. others call it natural talent but it’s like breathing, it’s such a natural part of you. I am sorry for what you are going through. I can imagine the pain and I can imagine how much harder it is cause you can’t let the pain out as you used to with the art. I know you know there are other forms of arts and maybe one day you will give them a shot, explore new avenues, maybe even find a new way to express you feelings, a way to get out of your own head again. But it will take time and even then it won’t be the exact same thing. You are losing a part of you.
I truly am sorry for your loss.
ReplyCheer up! Don't dwell on this. Find things that you can do to enjoy. Talk to your doctor about the pain and try to get some relief.
