Since when do we say 38 and 17 instead of your change is 38 dollars 17 cents? This is America and we have dollars and cents. And since when do cashiers put the change in your hand on top of the bills so you inevitably drop all the change on the floor? They're afraid of touching your hand but people, the bills and coins are just as dirty and disgusting as anyone's palm

It's just how some people talk. Don't sweat the small stuff... As long as you understand what they're saying, there shouldn't be a big problem. Cut them some slack.. Being a cashier sucks big time, I would know ! And when they go to put the bills in your hand before the change, kind of reach for the change and avoid grabbing the bills. If nescessarily say I'd rather have the change first so I don't drop it.. Then they'll know to keep doing that in the future. People aren't perfect cut them some slack ! (:
