i guess we never ever really completely get over someone, we just get used to not having them as a part of our lives anymore
and that’s really sad; a lot of regrets, what ifs
thinking about how different everything would be if we never parted ways
it was just not meant to be.
but we did it for ourselves; we’re maturing but we aren’t together anymore;
we’ll still accomplish all our goals we promised we would achieve together someday, yes we will still achieve them, but not together.
we can only cherish these moments in our own thoughts: remember all the feelings when we see a certain picture, a certain place, a certain habit you do that used to annoy me or even a certain joke you once told me that made me laugh like there was no tomorrow.
thinking about the past while smiling with a hint of bitterness, and maybe even a drop of tear.
we can’t do anything; at this point we’re already going through with our own lives,,
but everytime that song plays, everytime i eat your favorite food or eat what you’re allergic to, everytime i smell your perfume from another person, everytime i reread your favorite poem, go to our usual coffee place
..everytime i remember you, i will let myself feel everything; i will cry, i will smile, but i would still not be able to do anything else.
thank you for being a part of my life, and continuing to be a part of it, you’ll always have a special place deep down in my heart.

ReplyThanks for sharing your introspection on romantic love - it reminds us all of a time in our lives when we went through a similar parting of ways, reminding us that everything in life, including life itself has a beginning and an end - the one universal truth we have no choice but to accept.
Courtesy notice: the following includes a reference to a book that contains writings over 2000 years old which are mostly parables about human nature, both vile human nature as well as moral human nature, parables that are meant to teach us to learn and grow. No religion required, and better yet: no public displays of devotion required. Some bullies will label this "trolling", so "change the channel" now if of no interest to you.
Joshua 1:9
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.
