I want to go to Alaska

To see the stars as they should be seen.

The lights in the sky

and the darkness around,

Do you think that I’d feel free?

Like that night in my yard,

Laying in the grass,

Pointing at the same three spots of light.

Laughter

and happiness

In every small movement,

And at that moment I was glad to exist.

But things are so sour

And I never did trust you

And I don’t know what to do.

I want to go to Alaska.

To see the stars.

And feel the cold.

And let the darkness press in.

I want to be free.

I want to be happy.

I want to do more than exist.
