so I have trauma with anything drug related and smoking and just smoke in general trigger me and i start to have a panic attack. my ex of 2 years started smoking half way into the relationship and i really couldn't deal with it mentally. It was like something i considered safe wasn't safe anymore and i later broke up with her because of it. My new partner does smoke on occasion and her talking about it makes me really uncomfortable. i get brought back to a place remembering my ex and i just feel overwhelmed and i dont know what to do. Is there anyway i can like get rid of this anxiety? i have nothing against smoking but it sets off bad memories that i cant let go of. i just dont want to remember my ex anymore and be brought back to a thinking about her.

Have you gotten over your ex? And it'd probably be a good idea to leave this relationship as well before you get too attached. Secondhand smoking is worse than actual smoking. Vast amount of people out there do not smoke and you always have plenty of options!
ReplyYou should talk to you partner and let them know how smoking affects you. They won’t know unless you tell them.
As for getting over anxiety.. I would recommend seeing a therapist. It will really help.
