I got some really nice pictures from Perserverance today. The delta it landed on has several rocks that may be Ignatius in nature and relay suggests those deposits may have formed underwater. Confirming my report 3 days ago that water does and has existed on Mars for millennias. Which is exciting news!
The only real question is if there are any signs of plant life left in these water beds? Or any kind of microbes that may have been active at any point.
The discovery was made about 27 hours ago and I'm a bit let down that I was on the dark side when that discovery was made. Would've loved to have been able to see it in real time.
In the coming weeks, Perserverance will be doing some drilling and some of those samples will find their way to me. Which will be nice, I can't go outside for very long. Usually less than 60 seconds. So getting some more minerals to examine that I wouldn't ordinarily have access to will be nice AND I'll be the first human to study them because I'm already here!
Granted, you won't here about that. You'll just get an earlier report is all. Still, it's exciting to know I get to be part of this and at some point, I'll be the one making the discoveries!
As a side note: the heating element was temporarily compromised, and needed to be replaced so I got that taken care of. Tonight's dinner? Chicken, broccoli and some pre roasted nuts, all packed into a neat little tube... 🤮.
For Mars One, this is Captain Johnson signing off.

You have to ask yourself what signs of life would (or could) survive nuclear warfare. And look for those, if possible.
