"When you were born, I told you a secret. Then I placed my finger just over your mouth and I said 'shh'". - Gabriel
To conceptualize God, to see God would be as to die. Yet to the truth of the matter, more honestly said that words do not convey what is experienced.
In the meld of the mind, darkness and light are but one. Not as the child mind had thought to be distinctive and different, but one.
In that oneness, the grand scale and the empty come together. For to give nothingness meaning, makes it no longer nothingness. A blank canvas all the same.
You say "but the canvas is blank, there's nothing on it" and I respond "but now you can see it, can't you?" "The canvas is not nothing, nor is there nothing on it. It has definition, it has depth. It is just as real as you or I"
Then you ask "but what does this have to do with God?" And I assure you "what you see, what you're experiencing is that reality does not align with what you believe to be true and so it must be false. Void of meaning and value, yet this canvas still has both." As I walk over to it and place the tip of a pen to the paper. "Now it has something, right?" "This is how you understand God. God had no value before you, God had no concept to exist. It was your mind and the myriads of minds before you that gave that concept life."
Perhaps it hurts your ego, perhaps it pains you to see it this way. Yet it is the truth, as fervently as you may deny it, this is the fundamental truth of the universe.
Yet we bestow these traits, these traditions to what most have agreed to upon as God, that all men are created equal, that each life is precious, that vile and contempt serve us no gain, that in every moral decision, every just decision that God must play it's role. Just as we play our role when we decide that apathy is the better path forward because "it's in God's hands".
The flip flop narrative that to have power, to have moral and just power one must abide by these rules and worship for God's favor. Yet to take no action because it's what God had in mind when life turned bad, when society turned bad, when rights became privilege and when privilege became controversial. Yet you will not fight, because it is not yours to control.
Yet it is, ever as much so now than ever before in history. As it is "grant me the power to change the things I can, the courage to accept the things I can't and the wisdom to know the difference". There is no wisdom in laying down to die as it were, while you, your children, your beliefs are all sacrificial for the machine.
And so it was, he stood before them and he testified "and lo, as I watched from the height of certainty, I saw a large machine with blades and needles and fiery pits and all manner of torture and men wailed in agony from within the machine. That they were tormented and tortured not by the demon spawn but by their own morality. In that all men would feel the keen sting but not die. They would wish for death, for an end to the torment but death would never come.
This is how it is to be, as it was written and so, obliged and satiated we process off into the machine as the things that were built before us become nothing but rubble and distant thoughts of how life used to be.
The end never came because some enigmatic force rose and took. The end came about simply on the limbs of the apathetic man. Not by demons nor devils nor dogma, but by delinquency and lethargy. By the winds of apathy, all things fall flat.
