My friend just started 8th grade. I'm a freshman. I'm only a year older, but I've always been mature for my age and she's always been a little immature. My friend just found out that a boy she used to like apparently likes her back, and they want to date. She hasn't gotten her parents involved and believes that she doesn't need to. I don't think that she's mature enough to handle a relationship with him. If it were just a little crush, I'd say it was fine. But she's really into him. I've felt the same way about a boy, and I was willing to make some pretty bad choices to win him over. She seems like she would too. I don't think he would ask her to make those choices, but sometimes you don't need to ask. I'm just worried that she'll get into a secret relationship under the guise that it's super romantic, and not have a more mature person to help guide her through a relationship. I really just needed to vent, thanks. If you have any advice, feel free to tell me.

Tinder
This is the most important thing I have to get off of my chest. Tinder is a joke. Thanks for coming to my TED talk....
well, I'd say that you know you're friend best. Talk to her and tell her that you are there for her if she needed. maybe she wont feel comfortable talking to an adult, but I'm sure shell be comfortable talking to you. So, maybe be the adult she needs. you could get advice from different adults, and give her the same advice as if it was just yours from your head, lol. but again its hard to control someone's life choices when they are not yours. so to be honest, all you can do is try your best. and yes I do think her age will lead to some bad choices, especially since she's immature. I remember when I was in 8th grade and how I made some stupid ones. so let her realize that she's young and she might not realize that she's making a mistake or something. IDk, it's hard to tell since I don't know your friend
