Crippled our spirits.

Talk down on us

‘Mere children’

These who have lived

- carry with us,

the lives

Of tragedy

You brought on this land.

Don’t threaten with rusted cages,

Keys long lost.

Power decreed from birth means naught

Over the mighty roars of ours-

Let it be known

Our fight for salvation

Will never come from tired hands.

Drained of force by quelling generations’

You lie weary, unperturbed by the warring skies.

Let go of what remains, it is time.

Yours has passed

It is ours now- not to be underestimated.

- children. The power of the world that for thousands of years went ignored, silenced, punished into submission by men who knew nothing but pretended to be gods. Young minds are quick and resourceful, young minds are powerful and responsive, young minds hold all the power. We are not mindless drones, we are not impressionable, easily led astray. We are powerful and we should be seen that way. Yes adults have the responsibility to protect us, AND NURTURE us. We are free thinkers and inquisitive souls when allowed to be so- let us BE SO! Just this would do the WORLD so much good. Stop silencing children who have so many voices that need to be freed. You have so little power of us, your zenith has long passed, no longer will children be seen and not heard. No more.

Ok I wrote this after watching D.P.S for the hundredth time and so I was angry over that but then just thinking about the world current situation and how much of a fuck up our predecessors made and how it’s now our job to clean up their messes. How even though we are dumped with this incredible burden, we are still treated like imbeciles. Young people with fresh, beautiful, powerful voices talked down to as if we don’t understand and feel the pain of the world- in so many more ways than millions of adults could. (I’m 18- on the precipice of child and adulthood. The constant condescending is more aggravating than words can describe).

… and if only Niel’s dad had some fucking common sense and any form of intelligence knocked into him.
