Look, I know that compared to some other people who come to this site, my problem is quite trivial. But if anyone could please be so kind as to take the time and help me, I would appreciate it greatly.
I created a Minecraft account using a pseudonym that listed me as a 40-year-old woman. I did this to avoid people who may use my real name and age to prey on me (paedophiles)— I am under the age of majority where I live. My privacy, especially on the Internet, is very important to me.
But I recently discovered that it is in violation of their End User License Agreement to do that. Now I’ve a dilemma on my hands. I can do one of two things:
1) Do nothing about it. I keep the information listing me as a 40-year-old woman. This is what I’ve been doing since I created my account, and it’s worked for me so far. My account was locked once due to EULA concerns, but I verified that I was a real person by sending a confirmation code to a phone. I haven’t had any problems since, but I fear that it may someday crop up again.
2) Change my account information to my real information. This would prevent me from being banned due to EULA. However, I don’t want anybody to know that I am a minor. I simply wouldn’t feel safe doing this.
Both courses of action have their pros and cons. Please tell me what you think is the better choice and why. Or if you have another idea altogether, I’d love to hear it. This has been causing me a lot of stress lately.

Keep it as it is. If you are a minor, you will eventually be an adult and it won't matter whether you are forty or eighteen. Don't bother following rules. It gets you nowhere.
ReplyI used to be somewhat of a goody-two-shoes and follow rules, not tell lies, but now I break rules as I now don't give a fuck. Society, Government, media, doctors, all lie to us all the fucking time. Do what you want.
ReplyI would recommend keeping it. Possibly backup worlds onto a flash drive in case you ever have to replace your account. If you’re worried about losing something on a server, keep proof of what you have on that server. They might be reasonable and replace your data if you explain your situation. More importantly, the chances of anyone ever noticing this are extremely low. I wouldn’t worry about it too much, what matters most is you’re able to feel safe.
