I keep trying to tell my mom that I am depressed but she won't listen. I want to ask for a counselor but I am scared she won't listen. If you have any advice please tell me. I need help. I have started cutting myself and trying to overdose to kill myself because of my moms boyfriend and his two kids. Please tell if you have any advice. Please.

Hi, you're a pretty young age for doing something really harmful for yourself. But it can happen to anyone at any age I suppose. It's ok. She won't listen to you? Why not? You need it for your mental health. She has to realize this. I don't know if I'm correct, but I think there's a phone number you can call for young kids who need counseling. Maybe if you're able to access a phone or something, you can make that phone call. I don't know what they'll do, maybe just talk to you. But yes, please don't cut yourself. That sounds like it hurts a lot. I've been depressed myself, and it is hard to deal with. So I suggest you find a way to get the help you need instead of doing your harmful methods! It's ok, and I wish you the best of luck.
ReplyThank you and yes I forgot the number to call but I have texted a counselor without my mom and her boyfriend knowing. I am doing better and I haven't been cutting myself as much anymore. Thank you for your support and addvice.
ReplyI'm pretty sure there are phone numbers or maybe even email addresses (not sure) that can help. Please try and find a way to access them - even if that means using a library computer or a friend's phone or something. Also if you can, talk to someone you trust. Generally teachers are a good bet for this; they have access to resources for this and can help connect you with the right people. They may also be able to intervene with your mom, depending on whether or not that would help.
ReplyThank you but I'm scared to talk to people about that stuff if its not online because they know my moms phone number and that scares me because she could tell my biological dad we have been through this before with me and I don't want to get yelled at again because of my depression. I think I have been yelled at and punished too many times because of it. I have texted a counselor without my mom and her boyfriend knowing. Thank you for your support.
