Hi, everybody. I have a bit of a problem. So, today, I was in a voice call with friends and they asked me a question, and I don't think I answered the question properly nor heard it correctly, and I worry that made me sound dismissive. The same thing happened about a week ago, but to explain why I have issues with understanding questions and going so far as to try answering the misheard question anyway reveals too many details.
This is because I may be neurodivergent, or more specifically, autistic. While I received an early indication letter at a young age, my parents insist I don't have it and I have been unable to verify it as a young adult, which absolutely sucks, as I relate much with the typical autistic symptoms. That adds another difficulty: I don't know if I'm *really* autistic, and stating that I *may* be neurodivergent reveals too much info. These friends aren't exactly my closest friends, which means I'm not comfortable talking about everything with them.
I know this is a loaded article, but if you have any anecdotes, that'd be appreciated. Thanks!
