If you think about it, both the past and the future revolves all on how you feel about the present. If you're not happy in the present then you will have bad memories of the past. Those bad memories will make you have a bad present because all your doing is thinking about how you felt bad or however you feel. We need not to dwell on the past but live in the present so we have good memories and can have a good outlook for the future. If all you do is be sad, you'll look at your life differently. It's all about perspective for the present. If you're having a bad time and do nothing to change that then you'll have a bad outlook on life, but if you try to change what's making you feel bad then you can be happy in life and you will prosper in the future.
