As a child I grew up in poverty. Lived homeless. Starved a lot. That hunger drove me to eating bark off trees cause that's what 'starving children in Africa did' digging up grass for edible bulbs or worms and breaking into houses to steal food. As a child the highlight of the week was tap water and Weetabix. Or 'buttered bread'. And if I could lie my way into the local church and endure the sermons they sometimes fed me with bakery leftovers.
As an adult, I have a weakness for food. I'm no longer poor.
I'm not 'rich' but have the money all of a sudden to eat whatever I want. And I've made poor choices. I love food. There's two things I need in my life. Food and a roof. And I'm happy.
But this led to a sedentary life.
And I've learned you can be as active as you want but at 30 if you eat like crap you won't lose weight.
I eat almost no junk food now. I'm home cooking healthier meals and meal prepping I walk the dog at least once a day. My work is strenuous and keeps me physically active
But I'm feeling so impatient I'm still overweight and my knees are starting to crunch. I also happen to like being alive. I want to live longer. and high blood pressure will throw a wrench in that soon if I don't or I'll get diabetes
What do you cook to lose weight and keep it off?

ReplyFor your main meal of the day, half of your plate should consists of vegetables. The other quarter should be protein and the other quarter should be carbohydrates.
Replysounds like you've done a great job w your diet so far, with cutting out junk food etc! i feel like there's always a lag when it come to actual weight loss as you're starting out, so in the early stages it may make sense to focus on eating healthy and really rewarding yourself for sticking w it (weight loss or not). as far as foods - i find soups/broths/other foods w a large volume of fluids to be very filling/satisfyingly often without containing a ton of calories. best of luck to you!!!
