Hi all✨ I live in a smaller city that is currently having an art/creativity boom. While we are a medium size city, the artistic community is small enough that everyone is interconnected. I do film photography amongst other things. My art has brought me into proximity with other talented film artists. Two weeks ago I shot some film of my friends but only today received scans. I had been planning on doing double exposure shots/edits for a while now. Coincidentally, one of my good friend that also shoots film had a gallery show this past Saturday where she featured double exposure edits; she also just posted a reel of it an hour ago. I edited my photos in the same manner (double exposed) although my shoot has a completely different setting and mood (mine is in nature, different models, different lighting and colors) hers is in a studio and different theme. I’m worried that if I posted mine, there would be talks of copycat, or unoriginal. I have no problems giving credit, especially to this friend because we have been mutually supportive of each other’s works. However i feel kinda weird, like i should give her credit due to our proximity and the timing; although this is a common edit many film photographers use.
What do you guys think? Should i send her my stuff before i post? Should i say i was inspired by her even though i wasn’t. Or am i just being a worrisome pisces?

What am I supposed to tell people?
When I talk about my family, I don't talk about my mom because she isn't in my life. She ran away and abandoned us. People then ask me "What about your mom...
It sounds like your shoot is entirely different from hers and the only similar thing is the edit. You also mentioned that this method of editing is very common so giving credit wouldn't be necessary, especially since you had no inspiration from her at all. Definitely just being a worrisome pisces. If people talk, let them talk. Even if you gave credit, there would still be people saying you copied in some way (which is ridiculous) so I wouldn't be worried at all. I hoped this helped in any way and good luck!
