I don't understand why people think the internet has toxic people. Everyone you see in real life uses the internet and eveyone online is someone in real life. The way they interact with you becomes different.
Interacting with people behind the blue screen is so easy. Just click the block button and they're not in your life anymore. It's just a person behind some blue virtual screen.
In real life, people actually know you in and out. They know your strength, weakness, they know about your residency and occupation. They can control you psychologically. They can physically, sexually, financially, and socially abuse you. They can reveal your secrets to your community members and ruin your job or life. And you can't physically block them out of your life. You'll have to see them everyday. They have your phone numbers too so the most you can do is block that. But even after ending the friendships or relationships they'll be bothering you physically by doing actions or gifting you things which have evil symbolism.
Real life has so much deep meaning to it. It's a whole different game as compared to virtual friends/relationship behind the blue screen over the internet.
I don't understand why people say "Online people are so toxic. I take a break from social media when I'm depressed and focus more on real life".
Like no. Being in real life is more stressful and if you find online people "shi*tty" or "fake" then just block them. They're random strangers over the internet anyways. That's the end of the story.
People who think online people are worse than real life ones clearly never lived a real life before.
I wish real life were as simple and easy as blocking people with the click of a button.

Internet persona
I did so many mistakes in internet, being a kid in it you can get lost, do all kinds of things, and you can suddenly create a history of a lot of things you did...
You use the internet to stay away from people. You can never really stay away from people. By simply needing the necessities in life, you will be forced to deal with people whether you are a recluse simply having all things delivered to you, you will eventually come upon someone who is inhabiting the same space as you in this world and have to deal with them. Who do you think you’re hiding from? Having the ability to block quickly some very disturbed and creepy people doesn’t make them better than the people having to take up the same space that you do. If you don’t like gifts that people give you, you can simply say ‘no thank you’. You have no superiority over the next person because of your personal choices, they are yours. They don’t affect the next person. Have fun fake hiding because you never really can in this world. We’re here to help each other and you can’t run away from it. You also can’t be better than the next by simply stating that you are. Have a nice day.
ReplyI get what you're saying. However, I don't fully agree. People you know in real life can just as easily get online and cause havoc in your personal life. They can get on social media and quickly spread rumors, lie and talk bad about you, ruined your reputation, and so much more. They can do all of that regardless of whether you do or don't have them blocked from your personal online accounts. And it is in this way that people you know in real life can intersect with the internet and the interaction can be become what is considered toxic.
ReplyLmaooooo u funny
ReplyWhether it is in real life or online... I am not a fan of people making such harsh accusations about other people or the intent behind others' actions. To claim that people are (or their behavior is) toxic, evil, shitty, fake, etc. without really knowing the person, or the full truth, is in a way ignorance on the part of the claimant. I also find it hypocritical of people to make those types of accusations when they refuse to look in the mirror and acknowledge their own role in situations.
ReplyPeople will be bad. It's not people on the internet or in real life. It's people plain and simple. And bad things will always exist.
But behind the screen people get gutsy and say things they wouldn't dare say in real life cause they're scared of the consequences. Things that could hurt real bad. And sure you can block them, but the damage's done.
And behind the screen, you can get in a constant stream of negativity and the news tend to be depressing since it's what gets attention. We're not made to think about sad things 24/7, so people get tired, and they take breaks.
So when people say they're taking a break, it's mainly from those things rather than people.
