I struggled last year with some of my grades and in one class this year due to mental health things and I’m wondering if I still have a shot at Johns Hopkins. I’m a sophomore and last year I got two C’s in math and this year I might end the semester with a B plus for chemistry or an A minus but a good chance for the B plus instead. Besides those grades I have all A’s including an A in math this year and I had an A plus in a science class last year. All of these are the most advanced classes I can take at my school at my grade level. I have good extracurriculars related to my major and will hopefully have more this summer. I want to major in something in the science field when I apply to colleges. Should I still consider JHU for a school later or should I forget about that school?

Insufficient
I feel as though no matter what I do is not enough. Due to the fact that I feel as though my occupation is seen as less than. Someone works outdoors in the rain...
I guess you can only apply and find out. Most people narrow the field down to 3 or 4 colleges and apply to them all. In other words, don't bet everything on just 1 school although you can have a favorite. JHU was one of my picks but in the end I didn't bother applying because I got accepted into a different school. Apply to a bunch and let the schools compete for who gets you :)
