There are some people who spew God and act like their presence in church means everything (you know who you are). I pray for these people to truly be touched by God. As for their abuses of power, e.g. deleting innocent posts out of hatred, closing accts., hiding; those kinds of injustices are always eventually aligned the correct way by nobody’s action. Those kinds of people will always find someone to hate on. No one is God but God himself and that’s a lesson I know they will learn eventually. We don’t need to bother with them.

ReplyAre you speaking of people/mods on this site or people in your church? You mentioned deleting of innocent posts. But anyone who is a believer should know God is God period. The great I AM. Before Abraham was I AM. Wonderful counsellor mighty God everlasting Father, prince of peace. And so on.
ReplyThe "modern Pharisees."
ReplyAll religion is man-made; just some rituals or practices, however you choose to call them. And anyone can learn them same as anyone can learn to ride a bike or drive a car. Religion is a noble thing if done out of one's own free will. However sadly, your post is correct, the people who lead religion are usually power hungry. True faith needs no religion, for as Christ said, and I paraphrase, where 2 or 3 gather in faith, He is present, no brick and mortar building of worship needed. But such is man, an egotistical power hungry monster of the world. Not to take anything away from the spirit of the good men and women who build the beautiful places of worship so the faithful can gather. Just keep in mind, the rabbi, priest, pastor, or whoever is leading, is human and flawed and can fall to temptation of the world.
In my humble opinion, when you enter a place of worship, do not look at the people or the leader for long, focus on your inner thoughts and prayers, and don't put the people there too on a pedestal, since after all, we are ALL equal under God's eyes.
Courtesy notice: the following includes a reference to a book that contains writings over 2000 years old which are mostly parables about human nature, both vile human nature as well as moral human nature, parables that are meant to teach us to learn and grow, including the teachings of Christ Jesus. No religion required, and better yet: no public displays of devotion required, although the former and latter are admirable if practiced freely out of one's own free will and without the threat of being beheaded. Some bullies will label this "trolling", so "change the channel" now if of no interest to you.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Mark 12:28-31
And Christ Jesus said the 2 greatest commandments are:
Love God first and foremost.
Love your fellow-being as you love yourself.
From following or not following these, all good or evil cascades, respectively.
Love...that powerful, invisible force that cannot be denied; even atheists live and die by it.
