Just a bunch of letters on a page

After a procedure at the hospital, I just wanted to log on to my patient portal to check out the doctor's notes of what had occurred during the 10 minutes I was in Lala land. Action Plan what did that mean. I did not know anything had occurred that would require an Action Plan, meaning next steps. I was looking for something like "all is well."

Once I got passed just staring at a bunch of letters and put them into words, I realized something had been discovered during those 10 minutes of not having a care in the world. I was being refereed to an Oncologist.

You know have they give you the does and don'ts after a procedure what before they roll you out the door, well the Oncologist was never mentioned.

It's always very interesting when the doctor or nurse start out a conversation by saying "that's nothing to really worry about at this stage. I'm thinking, "what do you mean?" As those letters that have formed the word Oncologist automatically send the death sentence message.

Why is it that most other diagnosis given that require some sort of treatment are never met with that same feeling as the word cancer.

Now my mind is racing and of course what does anyone of my generation do, we consult our best friend Goggle. We want to be prepared when we show up for the Oncology visit and when the doctor says, "do you have any questions," you have a 12- page list of Googles thoughts and ideas. Then what does the doctor say next after you say, "well, here is what Google says according to the Mayo Clinic," stay off the internet.

Well, why is that information out there if we are just supposed to disregard it? And how do we erase from our brains what we already read.
