does manifesting really work?

lately, i've been having interactions with manifesting sounds on tiktok. thinking nothing will lose if i'll give it a try, i used the sound and uploaded it privately manifesting for only one thing. Days after, i've got an email about wanting to buy my art as an nft. I did search about the client and how nft works, her profile is very fishy so i searched for more, found out a blog about nft art scams and it was very similar to the way she approached me so i no longer messaged her. After that day, another email was sent to my email. different person this time but same goal, which is to buy my work. Checked their ig, and it was said that he is an nft collector. After that, went to their profile on that website and both can no longer be contacted and it was a spam.

I was so upset because it was my first time to be contacted however it turned out to be a scam. After i saw that i had an email I immediately told it to my sister that finally, i can helped my parents pay for my college. My college will start in a month, and I'm currently working part time but it wouldn't be enough to buy my materials for school as i'll be taking architecture. The tuition fee is very high and the materials needed are expensive as well.

I was confused bc i thought manifesting did really work but turns out it wasn't.
