Television is one of the greatest invention. It uses data to produce pictures and sounds via disc, cables or air signal.
The invention of the Television revolutionise not only entertainment but also the fast sharing of information around the globe.
In 1925, the first television was created by an inventor named John Baird. The television was in a prototype as it can only be run in one colour and could only show a maximum of 30 lines. It was not perfect, although the idea of a television was promising.
America was the first country to have the first TV station and it was built in New York in 1928.
At that time, TV engineers were just experimenting as the TV only had one channel and was broadcasting to the public, “Felix the cat” for two hours a day.
Eventually, the TV’s were nearly in perfection by the end of 1930s. America, however, held one of the historic events called the “World’s Fair” where the President gave speech to the public in 1939.
There were 200 small TV’s, 5 inches in size, black and white, that were showcased around the fair and the members of the public were pleased by it.
During the World War 2, factories were very preoccupied producing guns and bombs that affected the production of the TV’s. However, when the was over, the TV production continued and TV’s were spread all over the country.
There were four big TV networks in America. By 1948, the TV networks aired their show for three hours, 8 to 11 in the evening. The shows were limited that resulted the TVs were not always used by the owners compare to the present day.
In 1953, colour TV’s were available. However, TV stations still aired their show in black and white.
It all changed in 1965, TV stations aired their show in colour and the price were cheaper compare 12 years earlier.
Many years have passed and many things have changed in a remarkable way. Today’s technology are mind blowing. TVs these days are in High-Def that it displays 1080 lines compared to John Baird 30 lines. Let’s not forget to mention the powerful, state of the art, 4k display that runs 3, 840 lines and the 3D displays objects almost in reality. I wonder what’s next in the future?

This was really cool and educational for me! I learned a lot, and it's well written. Just a few small errors with verb tenses and articles, but overall great. Good luck!
ReplyThank you for the corrections. I thought it was perfect but still have many errors.
Thank you once again.
ReplyYou're welcome :) Don't worry, it was very good. English has some weird rules, especially with articles ('the'). Why do we say "the Great War" and "the 2nd World War" but we say "World War 2" without 'the'? lol
ReplyMaybe because "2nd" and "great" are adjectives? And "world" is a noun? Idk.
ReplyThe second commenter pretty much covered it, but don’t forget to add a parenthesis for the abbreviation after the first time you refer to television in long form. Even though we all know what TV means, it’s just common in informative pieces that have set abbreviations throughout.
So, you would go something like:
Television (TV)
Or
Television, commonly known as “TV” is one of the greatest inventions in modern history.
Either way, you just want to place the acronym after the first mention. But really great job overall!
