Going through the motions

Hey, I just really like this phrase. I looked outside my window, it's a new day. I'm listening to music all day to cope. Going through the motions means doing something without much interest. Not that I don't like music, but my playlist is filled with all kinds of music... from sad to happy, to love and hate, etc. I'm realizing things today, I mean, nothing new under the sun, it's just that I probably have learned nothing; I'm living life like I'm still confused, reality is a weird thing because I follow it but it's not my ally, like I don't really like it, but I accept it. I wish I was a rock and didn't have to feel committed to saying all these things and try to make them pretty and dope for people to appreciate me... yeah, I just revealed you one of my selfish secrets, kinda. I don't know if this is right, as I write this I'm listening to music, and I sorta need something more, like I don't wanna be old and realize I've been wasting my life listening to songs of yesterday. Well they tell a story, I like technology and the internet because it's the closest we have to a time machine. The thought of being old and having my skin wrinkled and knowing that I've been wasting my life away by not doing or trying my best gets to me. It's cool though, I accept it, but I don't like it.
