I have a crush on Miss J,
Yet I still want to keep the professionalism in our communication
Is it okay to give her small gifts? Like gifts of appreciation? And should I tell her I have
a crush on her?
She's currently not employed in our university but she used to be one of the best and most respected and looked up to professor, but she's currently working outside the uni but she's still available as our uni's thesis adviser

Gifts are not appropriate and do not tell her you have a crush on her. It's very unprofessional. It will make her feel uncomfortable. I am a female professor. I would drop a student if they told me they had a crush on me and tell them to get another advisor.
ReplyWhy don't you just wait and send her a Christmas card that way nothing would be inappropriate. But if I were you I would let her go as a crush and find someone your in your own age group. Its just asking for trouble pursuing a professor.
ReplyCrushes disappear very quickly so if I were you I wouldn't do any of these things.
ReplyHow can you not know that that would be inappropriate? Have you not heard of boundaries?
