jaw clenched tight
about to snap
pop goes my skull
as i walk
your weight
bends me back
a heavy knapsack
creaking with each step
i cant collapse
i must press on
i knash my molars
fists clenched with spite
it’s all your fault
if you were braver
smarter
we wouldn’t be in this mess
i spy
with my watchful eye
a chance to strike
vipers bite
swift and tight
the world turns red
i cant let go
of what is “right”
you dodge my advice
a silent scream
DANGER
WARNING
you misstep
and i hiss
as we tumble
down the cliff together
rocks spill
i wrap myself around your neck
i see the fear
in your eyes, are mine
i see the trees
glorious
way up high
brilliant emerald green
and i hate myself
for holding on
we crash
awaken to the dawn’s soft light
the teeth marks fade
your neck shines bright
i loosen my grip
leave you behind
i could never control
what isn’t mine
