Apparently there's some book for kids about gender identity titled "Elephants Are Not Birds." Well, fucking duh! They're different species, you twit!
But now I have to wonder if transphobes are aware that they're implying men and women are of different species? If they're going to endorse a book title like the aforementioned, they've got some explaining to do about that one.
Anyway, I think transphobes are so backwards. They get all hot and bothered over even the slightest bit of gender nonconformity because they think it's demonic. They think cis women who always wear pants instead of skirts are possessed by demons. The same goes for cis men who are interested in fashion and makeup. It's the 21st century, you fools. If I want to wear pants every day instead of skirts, that's my fucking choice. Get used to the fact that no one is 100% feminine or 100% masculine.
Well, I didn't think this post would take the direction it did. I guess it's a good thing I'm venting. I have a lot of pent up anger against transphobes. A lot of transphobes have strict, black and white expectations about gender and how society should be enforcing those expectations. Many of them are fundamentalist Christians (or religious fundamentalists in general). I feel enmity between myself and fundies since I am slightly gender nonconforming and lean liberal on most social issues. I'm also Roman Catholic, another type of person fundies love to hate. That makes things worse.
Gosh, I'm in such a rambling mood tonight. It started out with me sneering at a kids book, followed by a rant about transphobes' hatred of gender nonconformity, to ranting about my feelings of enmity towards fundie transphobes. I guess I will clarify that just because I see fundamentalist Christians as my enemy doesn't mean I hate them. Jesus commands that we love our enemies, He didn't say anything about liking them. Also, I am aware that a lot of people are still trying to make sense of transgender issues. I'm not referring to them when I say "transphobes". I will admit that it took me some time to make sense of these issues. Even at my most ignorant, I always understood that transgender people are human and just want to live their lives peaceably; they want to pay their bills and provide for their families, too. You, the reader, might think the same way. When I say "transphobes," I'm referring to those who unapologetically hate transgender people just for existing and refuse to acknowledge that they are operating on disproved theories. Don't get me started on "groomer panic." However, I will point out that the "groomer panic" is not a new idea (Remember the "Satanic Panic" of the 1980s?) and in fact dates back to Nazi Germany. Oh yeah, and there is no evidence that LGBTQ people are more likely to be child molesters than the general population. To appropriate Shapiro, facts don't care about your feelings.
Anyway, I'm done rambling and ranting. Thank you for reading and have a good night. Also, thank goodness this website exists.

Good morning text
Am I.. asking for too much? My boyfriend is the type who forgets things easily. We've also just been together for 9 months. I've told him that for me, a good...
I have never heard of transphobes.
ReplyIt's stupid it's pretty much Christianity that are bothered so bad by it. It's just how they were raised and now that things are changing they feel like they gotta put their 2 cents in about it
ReplyThe universe is strange, nothing is what we think it is, and all works according to conventions we have not fully grasped yet. If the internet vanishes this Friday due to solar storms, I hope you have a pleasant rest of your 2023 and onward, in love always.
ReplyThe word transphobe is not even accurate. To have a phobia is to be scared of something. Transphobes don't have to be scared of transgenders. Get a more accurate word. The issue is that some transgenders and people who support transgenderism confuse and conflate biology. A transgender woman might say that they are female. That is a lie. They are a biological male with male genetics. Only females with female genetics are women.
ReplyBut... you do have a phobia. There is a thin line between fear and hatred. Explain your visceral reaction to gender nonconforming people.
