When you say, "oh obviously she'll get an A again, she never fails tests," I never know how to react. I don't know why these days, when someone calls me smart, I feel like punching a brick wall and screaming.
That's why when you say that, I hope you're saying it while recognizing the effort I put into it. It's tricky huh. I know you guys study hard, why else would you be in honors and AP classes. So I can't even say I got all the way here through pure effort. To say it was all due to my own hard work can seem discrediting to the effort you put in. To whine and complain that I'm not smart would make me bratty.
So was I just born smart? I'm not smart but I guess my grades are okay? I guess it really was just luck.
I wish you guys would understand that getting good grades doesn't mean you're smart.. hell even if you're textbook smart, it's so much better to be life smart. I wish you guys could see how bright you shine even without the weight of a number on your shoulder.
