Somebody from Tinder just asked me for money and in the same breath asked if I wanted to come over.
Ew.
Dating apps in 2024 are hellscapes. Just go out and meet people in real life.

They want you to go over and hand them the money. If you are going to loan or give the money tell them to come and get it themselves.
ReplyGlad I've never used it then.
They may as well just ask for your car keys and bank account information too while they're at it and heck why not just throw in the kitchen sink while we're at it. Some people don't care what they ask for. Never ever send money. You'll be waving bye bye to it and they'll make a habit it of it if they're a con man/woman /person
ReplyI know. Tinder is the worst too cuz everyone's just looking for hookups or to use you or whatever. Right now I'm finding it to be the best to stay single.
ReplyIt used to be that women you called for a hookup were called "call girls", and you paid them for raunchy sex. Then dating apps gave the illusion that you weren't a call girl since some dating app girls give up raunchy sex for free, or dinner. Either way, debauchery and promiscuity lead to a feeling of emptiness.
Intimacy is between 2 people in a committed relationship based on mutual trust, mutual respect, and mutual love. And these elements take time to develop.
Courtesy notice: the following includes a reference to a book that contains writings over 2000 years old which are mostly parables about human nature, both vile human nature as well as moral human nature, parables that are meant to teach us to learn and grow, including the teachings of Christ Jesus. No religion required, and better yet: no public displays of devotion required, although the former and latter are admirable if practiced freely out of one's own free will and without the threat of being beheaded. Some bullies will label this "trolling", so "change the channel" now if of no interest to you.
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.
Mark 12:28-31
And Christ Jesus said the 2 greatest commandments are:
Love God first and foremost.
Love your fellow-being as you love yourself.
From following or not following these, all good or evil cascades, respectively.
Love...that powerful, invisible, intangible force that cannot be denied; even atheists live and die by it.
