Is it valid to not be part of a religion if the community can be really discriminating? I used to identify as a catholic but so many people in the community are so homophobic and aphobic. I do not feel safe at all because they see people like me as abnormal or wrong.

The Catholic church is full of ideas that have been made up by popes and aren't in the Bible. Do a Bible study with someone who knows the Bible and make your mind up as to what you want to do. I was horrified with the Catholic church when that nasty old bitch Mother Theresa was made a saint!
ReplyYes in my opinion. You don't have to go to where said people are but you can maintain your beliefs and relationship with God. Yes it does say not to forsake the assembling of the brethren. But if truth isn't taught and you're being discriminated I would pray about it personally. I wouldn't want to be where I didn't feel welcome myself. But pray about it ask for wisdom guidance discernment. Wherever you're meant to be.
