Grief is a strange thing
so strange that I can hardly spell it
mixing my “i”s and “e”s
even when I’ve been taught not to
even when I’ve learned tricks to help remember
“‘i’ before ‘e’, except after ‘c’”
but that’s the thing about grief
it can be so painful
it can feel as though
limbs are gone
organs are ruptured
skin is stabbed
eyes are blinded
life is missing
but then there are times where you just
forget
how
to
spell
it.
