I’ve become so good at grasping the vibe of the songs. I think I unlocked this strange brain mechanic when I decided to listen to a few New Music Friday playlists that Spotify makes. I could tell you what each song makes me feel, at least feeling wise. And each song has a different vibe than the other... that’s the beauty of it; every song gives me a different vibe and it varies in intensity. I have a playlist of all my favorite songs by my favorite artists, and also you know what I discovered? Spotify Lite is better than regular Spotify! Like seriously, try it (on your phone), because it’s faster and don’t ask me why but the crappy sound quality adds up. Let me give you a few examples of songs that I listen to and the vibes they give me:
Linkin Park - Papercut: This song gives me the vibe of paranoia plus the music video matches perfectly the vibe.
Beyoncé - Halo: It gives me the vibe of people that you would call “angels” or did something good during your life.
Papa Roach - Help: This song gives me the vibe of someone who is drowning and needs to seek serious help.
Many, many more songs. That playlist alone has more than 1200 songs, and I have one with more than 6100 songs, which I listened them all. But it’s not only the meaning of the songs, of course... it’s also the vibe they give me, and it feels so good to have so many different feelings in an instant, because I grasp the vibe of every song that I’m listening to almost instantly, and it feels weird inside... it feels alien, unique and different at the same time. I love that about music, that it makes me feel something otherworldly.
