This boy at my school that I've been friends with for a while now has been confusing me a lot lately. He's been having some change in his behavior lately, which is surprising to me. I caught him talking to his friend about me, wondering if I would like something that he brought. When I came over, him and his friend were acting all suspicious. Then his friend accidentally revealed that he was going to share mangoes with me during dismissal. Then, he started whacking at his friend for spilling on accident. When we walked out, he didn't look at me, but he asked, "Do you like these?" and he held the bag of dried mangoes before me. It was kinda like he was shy about it, but then again idk. This also isn't the first time he's given me food. There was this one time when he shared sushi bake with me. He usually shares with others when he shares with me since other people seem interested in what he brings, but he usually seems focused on me alone when I eat something of his.
Also, I've been catching him staring at me, and when I do, he looks away immediately. He can also look a little embarrassed whenever I do catch him looking. Sometimes though, he doesn't even look away. We just hold it. We usually start to break down into laughter when we do though. He's also been reacting with certain affectionate or somewhat flirty emojis as well when we text. There was a day when he sent me silly selfies of himself, which was odd because usually he doesn't really take pictures of himself or send it to people on top of that. He always hovers around me too whenever it's just us and our friends. He's a bit of an introvert, so it's kind of hard for me to tell when he wants to talk or not.
He texts first sometimes too, which might be a good sign because it's not just me reaching out. Here's the strange thing though. I gave him a playlist full of songs by Filipino artists, since he wanted to listen to music of his culture. They were a mix of both love songs and sad songs that I thought he's like, and I think he liked "Give Me Your Forever" the most, and it's a love song. He sings it all the time whenever he thinks I can't hear him, but it's usually still around me? Like, he'd only sing it around me, but he also doesn't wanna be heard by me. One time when we were leaving in a line, he was singing it behind me from a small distance after we were talking, and it was on the same day he gave me those mangoes.
Whenever we do talk, we can either be really goofy or really vulnerable as well. Apparently, I'm one of the only people he can open up to, other than his parents. I'm also the first to know about things going on in his life. There's kind of like this odd connection or spark we have between us, or at least, I can feel it.
So, what do you guys think? Am I just overthinking this, or is something there really going on here?

He seems to like you and you can ask him out for coffee or even to see a movie with you and see what happens.
ReplyI've actually been thinking about hanging out with him outside of school, but didn't have the confidence to ask, so this actually kind of encourages me. Thanks for your advice :D
