hi! this is going to be a religious vent so any and all advice is needed! i am 17 years old. I just turned 17. When i was a child i was always christian and though i didn’t really read the bible because again i was a child. My mom always scared me with religion. She’d say stuff like “you have to believe in God otherwise you’ll go to hell and burn for eternity” and stuff like that. I believed in God until about freshman year. I had never once felt a connection with God. I never felt anything that other Christians felt when it came to God and the more i did research and hear other non-Christians thoughts on the Bible, i started to realize that i didn’t agree with what was summed up in the Bible and i started to agree on the non-christian’s side. So i stopped being religious. I started getting into manifesting and subliminal heavily and tarot cards. Last night I got a tarot reading about if someone would come into my life and the readings said love was coming into my life and i had been manifesting through subliminal my ideal man and since i don’t really wanna die im petrified of death, i wanted to try out subliminal that seem impossible so i did a demon one, i started listening to that on and off through this year and last year but recently i started listening to it more and the more i started having supernatural stuff happen in my house. Back to last night, i ended up having a dream that i went to sleep and woke up into another dream where i became religious and in a way God was there and I was swimming in this lake that had a pretty waterfall and the grass was green and the wind flowed through the grass and there were rainbows and butterflies and my dream self woke up and in the dream i freaked out and started being religious and then i woke up actually. After i woke up i was kind of freaking out because that was a weird dream and i told my mom and she said that it was God trying to reach out to me and was calling me and my sister agreed and my dad said it could’ve been a spiritual message. I have said before i didn’t want to believe as well because the bible sounded fictional and “how was i supposed to believe in a book with talking snakes” now i think back it sounds disrespectful and even during that time i did apologize but i still didn’t believe in the bible. i was never a good religious person but now my family got that dream into my head and if im going to be religious then didnt i commit blasphemy in the past so wouldn’t i not be forgiven? And i want to keep my beliefs in subliminal and manifesting but i cant if im religious. i’ve been on edge all night and i don’t know what to do. I still want to keep manifesting that demon because i want to see if its real but if im going to be religious then i definitely can’t. I made this guy up like 4 years ago and in a way i’ve been so heavily fixated on him and id change him up to fit my ideals, I don’t wanna give up on him now but what my family said and that dream i feel so torn apart. please can anyone give me advice?

Hey I was just thinking about this sort of thing last night. I also come from a super religious family. It really amounts to brainwashing when children are so young and they’re taught about talking snakes, and how all lifeforms on eart fit into a boat while the rest of the planet went underwater (gee thanks god for killing all the puppy dogs) and so on. Like you I realized this stuff was fiction. That’s not an insult, I mean it’s literal fiction written by men, just like the Greek myths, only we all accept those are fiction/mythology while only the judeo christians still believe their mythology is literal fact and the entire billions-year-old universe was made in 6 days.
Well I guess you see what I’m saying. Just because your family says something, doesn’t mean it’s true. Keep asking questions. And if the answers aren’t rational then ask someone else. Ultimately formulate your own answers. Isn’t that how you should approach any subject like, say, how to build a house? If your family says a ball of string works fine and that doesn’t make sense then ask someone else.
Tbh I have my questions about tarot, manifesting and the occult as well, but at least none of those tell me that god tells people to murder their sons as proof of their faith. wtf is that all about.
Replylol yeah God was very different in the new testiment than he was after he gave his one and only son to the earth so all our burdens and sins can be forgiven if we ask for it. Even though he did ask Abraham to take his son Isaac up to a hill to prove his faith and love towards him, Jesus would have never let him go through with actually doing so. Theres lots of evidence even outside of the bible that Jesus existed and what the bible says is true, you just have to open your mind and look into what God has to offer or where it all comes from. Even scientist cannot prove that a creator (outside of their big bang theory) couldnt exist, lots of them actually come to the fact that there has to be a creator- the chances that life forming and the way things are the way they are today, at their perfectedness is trillions to 1. i personally recommend looking into cliff knetchel or living waters on youtube or even tiktok, watch some clips even if it just means hearing it without actually wanting Jesus in ur life, i think a lot of questions can be answered
ReplyI totally agree that atheists often make the same wild assumptions that they criticize in religions. To say that there is absolutely no creator is just as saying there absolutely is. The truth is both are possible and that's why we need to investigate.
It reminds me of when I was in 1st grade and some boy got accused of stealing a pencil. Kid #1 said "I saw him do it!" and kid #2 said "I saw him NOT do it!" and nobody actually investigated.
Honestly I think Christianity & the New Testament has some great messages when they get away from the crazy 'mythology' aspect of the Old Testament. Afaik Christianity is the only major religion that really stresses service, charity and helping others. Jesus washing lepers feet and all that. Tell me another religion that makes a major point that our purpose in life is service to others.
To me, the strength of Christianity is in the stuff he said about being good, helping others and not being a douchebag. Afaik he never said he was supernatural or had special powers, that came after he died. But if people follow his actual teachings, I have no problem if they believe he walked on water and did that stuff. I mean it's kinda funny, but the bottom line is whether people are becoming better.
As for who/what created the universe, I believe in alien life forms that we haven't met yet. Maybe those are "gods" who knows. But the universe is a huge place and so much needs to be discovered before we deny all possibilities.
ReplyA lot of what you said sounded like me when I was around your age. I grew up in a Christian home as well, and I never found my own connection with Christ until I was 19 years old. i've learned that living in a Christian household, being born into one does not guarantee salvation on us. We have to have our own encounter with God in Christ so that we could have our very own relationship with him and truly want to have him in our lives .and I believe that God is calling out to you through this dream, I went through a lot but throughout it all, being exposed to God it's like all his teachings, you just never forget them. You can never forget about him. I was into crystals and manifesting as well for a while i got really into it to the point where i was making spell jars about everything in my life, but all I also learned that our soul is constantly craving something that only God could fill. thats something that never went away, what the devil does and I'm sure you've heard this many times - he's here to kill, defeat & destroy, a lot of this is through minipulation so he's gonna make you think and use people in this world to help you stay away from God as much as possible, but with these tarot card readers or palm readers or any type of witchcraft people the only power they have is through demonic entities that they go to such high end to get that power if that makes sense. like behind closed doors if you were to know what length these people go to to actually have access to knowledge like this. You would probably want to stay away from them, but another thing about demonic entities is that they could only ever know something you've said out loud maybe something you've written down maybe something you've put in your phone or given little hint to people, but they could never be omnipotent like God is. God is all knowing he's in our mind in our heart and in our souls, he's spiritual , unlike the devil. you can never be closed off to what God can help you with in your life and what he has promised for you. The reason why Jesus died for a sins is that so we could be freed from every thing we were to commit and I know the Bible does say that one of the most unforgivable sins is blasphemy, but if you come to him with the pure heart and truly ask for forgiveness and repent for what you have said your sin will be casted down to the deepest part of the ocean like he promises. so back to reading this person or your cards told you that something you've been craving & that so much is going to come your way, but this is just a distraction because he knows that God is trying to draw you close to him so he's trying to put something in your way. but God is more powerful so he gave you a dream! a dream that he was calling out to you and i think thats precious. I'm not gonna tell you that you have to listen because I had a few encounters with God as well when i was apart from him. You know I would have a little sign here and there that he was still around and watching for me, he still cared about me and I didn't listen for like two years , so I'm just gonna say that either way he still looking out for you and he still cares about you, he will never stop trying for you. and I'm pretty sure he's super happy that you are actually thinking about coming back to him and I don't like to use the word religious because Christianity is not religion. Christianity is your relationship with God and always wanting to be closer to him . but it's crazy cause I used to use this website back when I was like 15 years old and today I thought about it out of the blue and I literally looked up anonymous writing and found this exact website and yours is the first one that popped up for me to read and I clicked on it because it literally said Christianity and that you're 17 years old and I was like wow this sounds very familiar so I don't know if this is another sign for you to take that God is trying to reach out to you. He has so much better plans in store for you if you were to keep this life of the demonic entities having access to you. God knows your very desires and if u prayed to him about it, he promises to give us what we ask in abundance, x10. <33 i hope this helps a little if u wanna reach out and talk a little more my handle is dreamofleilaa on insta, you'll see im a lil different lol but that should tell you a little why i am the way i am today with my journey with God, my heart rlly goes out to u
Replyi’ll dm u girly 😼
ReplyUm... i'm not religious in the first place, so i'm not the right person about religious stuffs.
But, since i'm an artist, in my view, I think your 'demon' is just an original character that you made and clearly got attached to. You can manifest him by drawing him, because that's the only way to make him real, unless you want to have hallucination. If you know how to draw a stickman at the least, give him the features you've imagined he would have, you can try!
ReplyAnd one way to make your 'demon' not a demon to your family is just reintroduce him as a character from a story you want to make, as a protagonist or antagonist, if you've made him up for 4 years and even changed his ideals to yours, you can change his name too or put it as an alias instead
ReplyI sound so stupid right now, because this is supposed to be religious stuff ough...
